Ski, Snowboard, Kayak and Bike. Be ready for the trip.
We became Action Sports Inc. back in 1976. Since then, we have grown into an all season sporting goods store. Our winter wear and gear occupies our original 8,000 square foot location at 324 West Main Street, route 1, Branford, CT. In 2010, we added an additional 3,000 square feet and opened our Giant Retail Partner Store in August.
We have a second location at 1395 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, CT. Our goal is to offer superior quality sporting goods to all our customers, nationwide. Whether you choose to shop with us locally in our two locations, Branford or Old Saybrook, CT, or shop online we say: “Ski, Snowboard, Kayak and Bike. Be ready for the trip.”
Our reputation has been built on being master boot fitters. We promote “Ski Pain-Free” because our staff are certified and trained to fit boots to your feet. We know that you can ski longer and enjoy a whole day on the slopes, when your boots and feet are comfortable. This is one of our specialties.
Offering the latest in snowboard & kayak technology, and top quality bike brands like Giant and Cannondale, is matched by our expertise in product knowledge and service. Expertly trained professional sales people assist customers to make the proper selection. Our “one on one” selling technique gives customers the utmost confidence they are choosing wisely. This saves everyone money in the long run. We find that our competition cannot offer all of the same customer support. Often there is no one to help the customer in their selection of the products. This is what set us apart from our competition.
Paul Von Maffei
In May of 1972, I opened my first store in Branford and named it Wintersports Inc. My experience as a sales representative for Rossingol Ski Company had provided me with valuable insights in tho the specialty sporting goods business. 4 years later, I moved into our current location at 324 W Main St in Branford and changed the name to Action Sports Inc. My philosophy from the inception of Action Sports in 1976 has been to offer quality merchandise with the best selection possible, competitive pricing and an expertly trained and certified professional sales staff. i also believe that by employing certified master mechanics, coupled with the latest in technical equipment, we would be able to provide unparalleled service to our customers.
